The history of Hotel Erika - a journey through time
Armin and Erika Frötscher built a garni called Erika
Ilse and Ezzet El Mangalify bought this garni from the Frötscher family in 1969. The garni comprised 12 double rooms, 2 of which were en suite; a café with seating for 30; a parlour - which housed the office, 1 private kitchen and 1 private room and 1 staff room on the lower ground floor
1st conversion and extension of the Hotel Erika to 20 rooms. The restaurant was extended to 80-90 seats and a hotel kitchen was built. Rooms were added and comprised 2 single rooms with shower/WC, 18 double rooms, 3 of which had a shower.
land was purchased from the parish of Nauders and the Stillebach was relocated
the purchase of the Aral petrol station
April saw the start of another extension: the dining room, kitchen and parlour were rebuilt or added.
The large extension to the main wing with 27 rooms began. rooms in total:
- Old building: 2 single rooms with shower/WC; 2 double rooms with bath; 3 double rooms with shower/WC; 11 double rooms with bath/WC
- New building: 2 single rooms with bath/WC; 2 family rooms with bath/WC for 4 persons each; 23 double rooms with bath/WC
- Kitchen was enlarged
- Staff: 4 double rooms, 1 shower, 2 WC
- Private flat
Hotel lobby extension
Expansion of leisure area with indoor pool, sauna, solarium, massage room and children's playroom, seminar room and terrace
Installation of the fire protection system and the necessary conversions and fixtures were carried out, such as the remodelling of the entrance area with reception.
Remodelling of the south wing (original garni rooms) - the staircase was removed, the space gained on the 1st and 2nd floors was used for the new room layout and the rooms were completely redesigned - new room layout, new windows and balconies, new room furnishings with flatscreen TV, new bathroom with showers instead of bathtubs and new installation of the sanitary and water pipes, as well as the electricity and heating pipes. On the 3rd floor, the roof was raised to create a corridor to the 4 rooms in the south wing, which were no longer accessible when the staircase was demolished. The room layout was completely redesigned. Roof dormers were added to 2 of the rooms, a new balcony was created and all the pipes and rooms were also rebuilt. In the main wing, the lift was replaced and the lift shaft was enlarged and extended by one floor to reach all floors. The new rooms were all fitted with keycard systems instead of the usual locks. A wifi system was installed in the rooms and on the ground floor and equipped with a total of 9 wifi routers.
Renovation of the 2 family rooms 110 and 210, completely new room furnishings and new bathrooms with showers and also keycards.
New seating in the dining room, as well as sanding and repainting of the solid wood tables.

Renovation of the main wing with 15 rooms; and equipping the bathrooms with showers instead of bathtubs. Complete remodelling of 15 rooms into junior suites with enlargement of the rooms and new balconies.
